We were recently requested by an asset-based lender to investigate a business who required a significant increase to their credit line. Our investigation involved the comparison of financial and stock systems and very quickly revealed that goods invoiced as sold in the financial system were never actually leaving the warehouse. The invoices raised were being used to secure much needed additional funding. Timely intervention, backed by robust evidence and forensic accounting expertise, allowed the lender to take control via the appointment of an administrator.

The outcome? Avoidance of a loss write-off and the freeing up of capital for investment with legitimate clients.

Not only did we find who held the smoking gun, we found their electronic fingerprints all over it too!
